One of my friends is in jail serving a month long sentence (for almost 2 months now), but hes finally getting out today.

His experience with lawyers is pretty intense.

A few months back his first lawyer, whom he paid something like 8g’s filed an affidavit during the trial period in attempt to get some kind of government waiver where he wouldn’t have to serve jail time (granted the details are fuzzy, because I am not totally clear on the some of the semantics). A few months pass and nothing happens, so he approaches a different lawyer, who explains that the affidavit that his lawyer filed for was irrelevant in his case and pointless. So he paid this new lawyer 11g’s to handle his case.

So its crazy that he ends up doing jail time because the first lawyer filed the wrong motion, and by the time he figured it out: it was too late to avoid prison. So this new lawyer manages to get him down for only a month. Fine…he’s serving his sentence, but his new lawyer…whom he paid eleven thousand dollars too forgets to file the documentation to get him out of prison on time. WHAT THE FUCK !!!

Well, in any case, Im trying to go to law school, and my girlfriend asks me if I’m going to forget about people. Of course im not. Im going to be the best ever . I proceed to claim that I will be like Keanu Reeves in the Devils Advocate (because my ego seeks stroking).

Well then, my girlfriend says that the devil will come for me, but of course the devil doesn’t exist. She claims that he does, he exists in peoples faith. What kind of people BELIEVE in something like the devil?

and this brings to me my point about religion, because lately I’ve been warring on that concept, because you’d figure that by now, some people would get a clue…

People who still believe in religions are essentially believing in an archaic theory, developed thousands of years before common sense, by uneducated people (comparably) who ruled over illiterate people (people who couldn’t read or write). We’re talking about thousands of years ago, when people were reaching for anything to believe in, the worlds first salesman: Jesus, started the worlds first corporation: the Church…and they’ve been getting paid ever since.

(Might I add that he did it the same way as Bill Gates? I’d like to post this quote from the ‘Free Information Society’ about my man Bill:

I still love it when little old ladies donate all their social security checks to the church, because the god demands payment! and in return: you will live in the clouds, with him, but only when your dead….so how much does it cost to live in the clouds when I’m alive? I wonder….

Well that sounds like a bad thing, but I just see it as an inevitable thing. So when my friend and I discussed recording our conversations….let me pause this thought for a second, because as im writing this, im chatting with a friend I met while backpacking through Europe a few years back, he is talking to me about politics- a topic that i am rather questionable of- I dont like politics because I dont believe in politics as a real practice-I believe that politics is just like business, and people only get in to politics to get paid – but thats a different argument, I would like to record a thought in our conversation

Anyway…back to where I was.

My friend and I were discussing recording conversations. And he says “Thoughts are awesome and deserve to be revisited”.  So I have decided to make this effort to record my thoughts, and the thoughts of others I may come in contact with. Because maybe I will learn something when I go back to revisit my thoughts, I am counting on it.

I know that jumping around like this isnt great writing practice, but im not an accomplished writer, and this is actually my first effort, so if I do have readers at some point in the future please bear with me. Id like to expand on why I posted the chat with my friend.

The topic of reaching “equilibrium” is something I have considered in the past, especially when thinking about the effect of the government on society. Realistically, the government is a machine that sets rules to maintain and control the lives of the population it governs. For example:  in America, we are lead to believe that the officials that run the government are elected (a rule), and that we the people have a say in the matters of our government.  Suffice it to look at the past three presidential elections, where out of the 2 candidates, one candidate was just impossible to vote for-and we can begin to understand how George Bush was actually the more attractive candidate in his second term. But did we actually elect him? (Hell I voted for him that term, but I liked him better than John Kerry, not much for choices…and I voted for Obama, but only because I liked him better than McCain, some option!)

The government does concede to the population because it is the governments duty to maintain a strong, healthy and growing population – for want of a population to govern (right?) but also for need of generating income, supplying manpower and generally being better than the population of competing governments (alot like corporations, hmm?).

Well, I really didn’t want to go into government in my first post, but thank you Alex.  What is it about equilibrium as the first thought in my blog.

Well I have often thought that balance is the answer. If the people had as much say as the political parties in choosing the candidates…things would be different, and I wont pretend to say better or worse, because I don’t know, but we’ve never had the chance, so you don’t know either, and neither does Rush Limbaugh (the ex-chairman of the Republican National Committee, for those who don’t know…and thats OK)

And that’s my point on equilibrium: Balance=Equality, and we just don’t have balance…not yet anyway, Alex seems to think we will though, and thats comforting to me at least.

It’s almost like curing cancer, except not as universally accepted.

Actually, thats the problem. Not only is my solution not universally accepted, it probably wont be accepted by the people who need to accept it.

Here is the background:

First of all, I’m broke. Now that isn’t as serious a problem for me as it may be for other people, but at the moment, I happen to know a lot of people who are also broke, like me, and I almost feel a little like Will Smith in Seven Pounds because I think I have an answer that can drastically change their circumstances and its going to come by way of a nifty power-point presentation.

The goal is to explain why all of us being helplessly broke isn’t helping any of us get money, and even if one of us were to find an extra dollar on the street means one person less who is probably going to ask us for money in the future.

Wait, that isn’t the premise…

I am going to suggest that by working together, we should be able to make up for something that we lack individually: Manpower

Now, I am of the opinion that man power can make things happen, and I would like to convince all the people I am going to gather together that if some one comes up with an idea that can be done, then it can be done, because we can get the personnel together to do it.

So what have I done so far:

A few days ago, a friend introduced me to Omegle, its a chat program: chat with a stranger, and the first thing i did was chat with a stranger about my idea (too bad I didn’t save the chat) but Stranger was pretty cool. He was from Europe and told me about the European Socialist party. Actually thats why I’m mentioning the conversation, he explained that I was trying to incorporate the principles of communism into a capitalistic society, and of course you can rely on those Europeans to know something about ism’s – he advised me to try if I believe, but that communism just wont work in America.

Go figure.

I will admit though, the conversation has slowed me down. I am beginning to question the value of manpower, if it will come at the expense of trust. You hear so often how you can’t go into business with your family and friends. I’ve seen my dad get stabbed in the back by people he built (he’s a smart guy), and I have an innate mistrust of motherfuckers – which is a good term to use when describing the average male in the age range of 18-65. I don’t want to help people grow, if it comes at the expense of my well-being. I’m at a crossroads.

I’m going to make the presentation anyway.
